We are a social organization, founded on June 10th, 1997 by a group of women in the Patio Bonito Sector of the Kennedy Neighborhood in Bogota, Colombia. We officially registered with the local Chamber of Commerce on February 5th, 2000 with the goal of minimizing the social divide and supporting the human rights of the most vulnerable populations in our community.
FUNDAMIL was formed in response to a need for a better network between women that would allow them to address their economic needs and confront the social and domestic problems they faced at that time. These women’s efforts initially centered around the elementary education of their children and meeting the subsistence and nutritional needs for themselves and their families.
